Default Who is your cable or satellite provider?

- Who is your cable/satellite provider?
- About how many channels do you get and how much do you pay a month?
- Do you watch a lot of TV?

For me, I have DirecTV, a satellite TV provider here in America. We have their "Family Package" which is lowest package they offer at $30 a month. Additionally I added HBO because there are a few shows and movies that are offered exclusively on the network. Finally, I added their NFL Sunday Ticket subscription which allows me to watch any out of market NFL game no matter where I live. This means normally I'd get just the Giants and Jets but also say the Dolphins, Bears, or Raiders. I also can watch eight games at once on a single screen which I love.

So what do you have?

Verizon.

About how many channels do you get and how much do you pay a month?
A lot. @_@ We have the Essential package, so it's local channels + a bunch of other channels like Cartoon Network, AMC, some music channels, & just a whole lot of channels. n_n I think it's like $100 a month, but we also have internet & phone, so that's also why the price is so high. We've been getting HBO for free lately too.

Do you watch a lot of TV?
Somewhat. My parents watch it more than I do; there's just some shows I watch.

I have Comcast.

I have the sports package because I wanted MLB Network(the other channels it comes with are a nice bonus) but I also bundled it with fast internet. though, the bill is about $130ish.

Comcast is very horrible for customer service and expensive as hell, but they offer the fastest internet in my area, so I just bite the bullet...

Not entirely sure on the number of channels, but I would guess around 350 different ones. The monthly bill is around $90.

Nowhere near as much as I used to years ago, since I don't have the time, along with there being less good content to watch anyways haha. The only stuff I watch on TV anymore is the news on CNN or Fox, and random movies I can find while flipping through the channels when I have nothing else to do. :P

You have DirecTV for TV and Comcast for internet? Is there a reason you don't have Comcast for both? I have DirecTV because of the Sunday Ticket.

My dad chose the providers, but my guess would be because we got DirecTV right when we moved from New York to New Jersey back in 2000, but didn't have a computer until a few years later lol. Either than that, we don't really pay for extra channels or deals offered by DirecTV, such as the Sunday Ticket you mentioned. :P

Is he a football fan (NFL) because it doesn't matter whether you live in NY or NJ (didn't know you were in NJ either), you get two choices and that's Giants or Jets. If you have Cablevision (Optimum) they give you the Philly Fox station so you can watch the Eagles. Of course now, everyone has the Red Zone (although to get the Red Zone, you have to get the Ticket with DTV) as part of their package which goes from game to game and has no commercials.

Ah I see, no one in my family is a major sports fan, including me haha. Thanks for the info though! :P
