Ideas thread/Future plans

Hello everyone!
I thought I'd create a thread to collect every kind of user input.
I know we have a feedback forum but I hope to get more attention this way.

Basically, this forum is quiet and that's nothing new. I have become pretty quiet on here myself, due to a lack of time and a generally decreasing interest in forums.
However I plan to let this forum stay. I am not super bothered by the inactivity but I feel sorry for the few people coming here probably expecting something more or waiting for replies to their posts.

So I want to ask you:
What do you want on here? Any wishes?
What do you want this forum to be?
Into which direction should this forum head in the future?

This is not about finding things to make the forums super active, so don't worry if your ideas/wishes are small. I just want to know how the people here currently feel.

Before I begin listing ideas, let me say how glad I am for your decision to not let this forum die. It's the last place I have in the entire Net to go and write my thoughts, as Miiverse got shut down, Serebiiforums are too strict, and I still haven't made progress on making a Twitter account yet (though I plan to once I get a Switch). So, thank you for all your hard work maintaining this site.

As for ideas, have you considered running a news site on Pokémon and having this forum as its official place of discussion? You know, kinda like how Serebii and Poke Beach are? I mean, PI forums are about Pokémon as well, and getting news shouldn't be that difficult. Then again, I'm no journalist to know how the job really works. :p It's still worth a try, though.

I think we should focus on making this an international community for people to discuss Pokemon and other stuff including news and what have you.

Pokemon (games, anime, movies, etc.) does NOT need to be the main focus.

With social media being the big craze now, a forum is going to need to have a pretty good niche to be active. Fortunately, in my opinion the international aspect of this forum has a pretty good niche as I don't see very many other forums doing that.

Since English right now is the only section with people posing, I think one of the things that should change is more discussion in the other languages sections. Make the non-English speakers feel more comfortable in posting in said sections, since they know it won't go unnoticed in their mind.

Probably sounds silly coming from me, since the only language I can speak/read/write in is English, but I really do think this place should live up to it's name.

Other small things that may help are small clean-ups (i,e cleaning/removing the forums that are less active so the place doesn't look too daunting), an updated theme, perhaps more interaction with people on social media so you can use it to your advantage.

I'm probably talking out of my derričre since I haven't run a forum in years, but there's just my two-cents.

Yeah, social media like Facebook and Twitter have done some good damage to forums as a whole, that's a fact, unfortunately. But at least, we can use this success to our advantage (advertising).

I completely agree with this! It's why I made a few posts in the Spanish and Portuguese forums a while ago, and now that the semester is winding down, I can be more active on here. :)

@Were, though I agree with other language sections being used. I believe Id need Google Translation for each.

@Winter, I've run across people that only watch movies, anime, or just the games. Some people are just different. I mean I lost interest in the anime after Hoenn. Haven't watched a movie since Pokémon 2000. As for the games, Ultra Sun and Moon didn't excite me. I've been playing ROM hacks lately on my phone.

What sort of laws are included in this? Does your government really enforce them as well?
